There are many names for Chinese martial arts, such as Kung Fu, Gongfu, Wushu, and Wugong. The well-known Shaolin Kung Fu refers to a collection of Chinese martial arts that claim affiliation with the Shaolin Monastery. Kung Fu is mysterious for many people. Such a Kung Fu system related to a temple is full of mystery for both foreigners and Chinese. More and more people like to learn Kung Fu for both exercise and self-defense. Wudang Kung Fu is an important member of Chinese Kung Fu (Wushu, Wugong, or Gongfu), enjoying an equal fame as Shaolin Kung Fu. It is said "the North advocates Shaolin Kung Fu, as the South respects Wudang Kung Fu". The name of Wudang Kung Fu is from Wudang Mountain, located in Shiyan in Western Hubei province, which is both a famous scenic spot and the Taoist Holy Land in China. The ancient architectural complex on the mountain was listed by UNESCO in 1994 as a World Culture Heritage Site.
