Wudang Kung Fu is an important member of Chinese Kung Fu (Wushu, Wugong, or Gongfu), enjoying an equal fame as Shaolin Kung Fu. It is said "the North advocates Shaolin Kung Fu, as the South respects Wudang Kung Fu". The name of Wudang Kung Fu is from Wudang Mountain, located in Shiyan in Western Hubei province, which is both a famous scenic spot and the Taoist Holy Land in China. The ancient architectural complex on the mountain was listed by UNESCO in 1994 as a World Culture Heritage Site. |
