Wuhan East Lake Scenic Zone, or Wuhan Donghu Scenic Spot, is the biggest lake within city in China, the first group of nation-qualified scenic spots in China, and the first batch nation-qualified AAAA grade scenic spot. Wuhan East Lake Scenic Zone received the honor to be "National's Best Scenic and Tour Spot", which was awarded by the Central Civilization Construction Instruction Committee, the Construction Ministry of People's Republic of China and the China Tourism Bureau.
It was also awarded the honor to be"Advanced National Scenic Spot" by the Construction Department of People's Republic of China. Wuhan Donghu Scenic Spot possess one of the four biggest Pulm Gardens in China and one of the three biggest Cherry Blossom Gardens in the world. Both the China Lotus Research Center and the biggest recreation center of Chu Folk Culture in China are based in the scenic zone.
